Install H&R Block and can't do I am trying to install H&R Block software on my computer and I don't know if the disk reader is broken or if I need to do something different in Windows 10. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. Can files be read in file explore (d:/) or dvd. The file size is 119,438 bytes. The program has a visible window. There is no information about the author of the file. The program is loaded during the Windows boot process (see Registry key: MACHINE Run, Run). Hh.exe is not a Windows core file. Important: Some malware disguises itself as hh.exe, particularly when not located in the C: Windows.
Learning has never been so easy!
We've all been there. We've all seen it. Your friend, mother, or coworker plops down their laptop in front of you and says they've somehow managed to get a handful of viruses and malware.
A common issue with these situations are complete browser lockouts. If you can even open the browser, it's completely bogged down by toolbars, banners, homepage changes and all sorts of junk that makes it pretty much useless. You could get rid of this junk if only you could get to just a few websites to download some tools..but you can't, right? Wrong!
Every copy of Windows has a fancy little hidden tool that almost no one knows about. It's called HTML Help and it could save your sanity when dealing with these situations. Here's how it works.

12 Steps total
Step 1: Run 'hh h'
Open a command prompt (Windows key+R)
In the prompt, type 'hh h' and hit enter.
In the prompt, type 'hh h' and hit enter.
Step 2: HTML Help
This is the HTML Help (hh h) window. It will serve as a very simple web browser. On Windows 7, it's actually IE 7. Because it's an entity outside of the other web browsers, it shouldn't be affected by malware. So you'll be able to accomplish simple tasks with it
Step 3: Jump to URL
Click on the '?' icon in the upper left corner, then choose 'Jump to URL..'
Step 4: Enter a URL
Here, you can enter in a website's URL. In our example, we'll be going to www.malwarebytes.org and to www.piriform.com as MBAM and CCleaner are two of the best tools for cleaning up our Malware.
Step 5: Script Error?
Mac os x server 10.6 dmg. Most modern websites will cause a script error prompt to come up. If you see this, simply choose 'Yes'
Step 6: Navigate
You'll now be able to navigate the website you've entered. Something to note, as the hh h window is quite small, you'll want to resize it.
Step 7: Download MBAM
In this example we'll be downloading MalwareBytes.
Step 8: Navigate to Piriform.com
CCleaner is a powerful tool that will help us disable browser addons. Let's download that too
Step 9: Download CCleaner
Navigate the page to download the program.
Step 10: Install the Programs
Assuming the malware hasn't blocked .exe access, go ahead and install both programs. You may have to boot the computer into Safe Mode to do this if you're having any issues.
Step 11: Open CCleaner & Clear extra addons
Open CCleaner. Then choose 'Tools' on the left, and then 'Startup.'
Click on each browser tab and disable any plugins you know to be malware. It's best to only allow known good plugins to run. You can right-click each item and choose 'disable' to do this.

On my PC, I don't have anything I don't need. But on an infected machine, you'll notice some obvious signs of bad plugins. Typically, it will be something that pretends to help you by optimizing your search, and sometimes you'll see entries that are just random characters. These will stick out like a sore thumb. If you're not sure, you can try disabling items one at a time
Step 12: Cleanup
As this How-To is more of a guide to using HTML Help as a last option browser, I won't go into too much detail about the other malware-removal steps. I'll give a quick rundown of some other tips, though.
Simply put, you'll want to disable items from the Windows startup list that are not necessary. After doing that, go ahead and run CCleaner to clear out temporary files. You can also run Malwarebytes to get a lot of what's left over. Reboot, then open CCleaner again and use the registry tool to remove leftover registry entries from the malware. Additionally, you may also want to reset each browser to it's default state. This will help clear out bogus homepages and such.
You're done!
You can use the HTML Help tool in a pinch when you need to accomplish a few simple things on an otherwise malware-ridden computer. It's an older browser so not all websites are going to work flawlessly, but you'll be able to poke around enough to get what you need done. There are a lot of other steps for removing malware, but I'll leave that for another guide.

How To Run H&r Block Dmg File Windows 10
- TabascoFelloWizard Feb 4, 2015 at 03:20pmThanks. This sure beats running a Linux Live CD to enable the Admin account or logging in as another user and working backwards.
- CayenneMichael2907 Feb 4, 2015 at 03:24pm@Keenan2853
Those are often very good options when you can't open executables. A lot of malware stores itself in the AppData folder of the main user, so in those cases it might be easier to log onto another account. A Live-CD is great when you can't boot normally.HTML Help won't do everything, but it's good when you don't need to do much other than clean up your browsers. - JalapenoRSIRandy Feb 4, 2015 at 04:00pmThanks for the knowledge. Great little tip that will certainly be time saving.
- Jalapeno(David) Feb 4, 2015 at 10:09pmSecret browser! Very cool trick, senor. 4 words to go.
- Datilkip130 Feb 4, 2015 at 10:37pmNice, that will save some time. I guess you can learn something new every day. :)
- CayenneMendy Feb 5, 2015 at 01:06amI've never gotten to the point where its this bad, but it's cool either way :)Wonder if I can use this as a backwards compatible browser for older sites, I did a browser check and it shows up as IE7..
- HabaneroGlenn_P Feb 5, 2015 at 01:17amNice workaround for people with FUBARed browsers. I'll keep this one in the mental tool box!
- JalapenoRichard90024 Feb 5, 2015 at 09:46amI'll be honest, when it gets to that stage I normally boot Hiren or FalconFour and run a scan from in there.
- Serranokh'ix Feb 5, 2015 at 02:05pmThat's awesome, I had never heard of this method before. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
- Chipotlejshowa Feb 5, 2015 at 02:21pmOr you could just carry around a usb stick with MBAM and CCleaner on it. As a developer, I've compiled HTML files into the .chm used to run in the help explorer so I'm familiar with the concept, but I never thought to use it as an ad-hoc web browser. Neat trick.
- Jalapenojoshklug Feb 5, 2015 at 03:31pmThat's a great tip!
When I was a service technician, I would usually just go straight to the Internet Options in the control panel and just reset the browser back to defaults. That will disable all the browser crap (if they are using IE) and then you can carry on like normal. - SerranoGeorge6658 Feb 5, 2015 at 11:13pmJoshklug, that doesn't work all the time, and those times where it doesn't, you need something like this. This is informative, and since it is a mini browser, all you need to remember is 'hh h'
- CayenneMichael2907 Feb 6, 2015 at 02:07pmThere are definitely more thorough ways of troubleshooting malware. HTML Help isn't a fix-all solution but it is a very quick and easy tool for when you're in a pinch or don't have the tools you need readily available on a flash drive.
- ChipotlezTom Feb 8, 2015 at 04:54pmCool tip! Thanks! I know I can use this in the future.
- CayenneMark4643 Feb 12, 2015 at 04:24pmThis is pretty cool. Convert la imagen dmg de mac os a sio free. It works in Windows 8.1 also. I can't wait for someone to destroy their computer so I can use this now.
